Holy Week at the Nation’s Capital

The nation's capital is absolutely beautiful during spring when the flowers and trees display their blooms. Wherever the eye can see, new life emerges with daffodils and tulips, dogwood and cherry blossoms, as they arise from their winter slumber.

Countless millions all over the world will be celebrating Resurrection week. For Jews, this week marks the Feast of Passover as told in the book of Exodus. This beautiful story describes God's deliverance of the Jews from their bondage in Egypt through the sacrifice of an innocent and spotless lamb, whose blood was sprinkled on the doorposts and lintels of their homes.

For Christians, this simple act of faith is portrayed through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who became the Passover Lamb of God, whose blood was shed for all humankind and deliverance from the bondage of sin.

This weekend, Christians from all cultures and nations, and from across the political spectrum and every faith denomination, will unite to remember Christ's Passion on the cross, as well as the hope and ultimate freedom represented by His resurrection.

From the First Continental Congress in Philadelphia in 1774, to our current President, government leaders have honored Holy Week and acknowledged the impact of our Judeo-Christian faith on America's founding and enduring success.

In the same tradition, we are grateful for and celebrate the freedom to both privately and publicly honor the true reason for the season. James Madison, the fourth President of the United States, once said, "The future and success of America is not in this Constitution, but in the laws of God upon which this Constitution is founded."

It is with gratitude that we acknowledge our Constitution that does not prohibit state action that facilitates religious expression, recognizes the faith-based character, history, and practices of its citizens or exempts individuals and organizations from generally applicable laws that might conflict with their religious observances and beliefs. In fact, the "Free Exercise Clause" of the First Amendment only prohibits laws that restrict the free exercise of religion; it does not, and never has, prohibited laws that favor religion and its exercise.

The beauty of our country is that no citizen can be compelled to worship God or participate in any religious act or function, but those who wish to can do so freely. That profound freedom is consistent with who we are as Americans… where individuals are allowed to have a faith and to live out that faith in every area of their lives according to the dictates of conscience. Likewise, people are free to have no faith at all if they so choose. That is a decision each American must make for him or herself.

From all of us here at the nation's capital we celebrate that Jesus Christ Has Risen… He has risen indeed!

Turkish President calls upon Islamic nations to form united army against Israel

The Turkish daily Yeni Şafak, has published an article titled "A Call for Urgent Action," which also appeared on the paper's website under the title "What If an Army of Islam Was Formed Against Israel?" The publication urges the 57 Islamic states to besiege and attack Israel.

Yeni Şafak is a conservative Turkish daily newspaper and is known for its hardline support of president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and has a very close relationship with the Turkish government.

According to the article, an Islamic army would greatly exceed the Israeli army in manpower, equipment and budget, and presents statistics to prove this.

It also advocates establishing joint bases for the army's ground, air and naval forces that will arrive from all over the Muslim world to besiege Israel, while noting that Pakistan, as the only nuclear country, has "a special status" among the OIC countries.

The Left is Really Trying to Silence Us

Dr. Michael Brown says, "Maybe you once thought that the left wanted tolerance and diversity, but in reality, tolerance and diversity have never been the goals of the left, especially the radical left. Instead, it wants to suppress and silence opposing views, and the further left you go, the more extreme the intolerance.

"For those who have still not come to grips with this, let these recent examples jar you.

"It is bad enough that states have been passing legislation banning counseling for minors struggling with same-sex attraction, even if they have their parents' backing. But now, there are reports that some states are considering banning such counseling for people of any age. (I was informed of this last week by a Christian counselor in California.)

"In other words, it could be illegal for a 30-year-old man with unwanted same-sex attractions to go for professional counseling that focuses on helping him deal with and even overcome these attractions. This is a monstrous violation of individual freedom, not to mention a serious misrepresentation of scientific data, as if all "conversion therapy" was harmful.....

As Christian Citizens it is our civic duty to Pray, Fast and then to Vote!

It seems like yesterday, when 81% of Evangelicals voted to return to the values that once made America great? Thank God that so many responded affirmatively to the challenge in the 2016 Presidential Election.

 
But the battle continues to rage. Have you ever seen anything like the hatred and division that exists in our nation today? We must continue to be strong. It's the only way for us to preserve our freedoms and our liberties.

 

Our challenge is clear. This is the time for us to pray and to act in this election year. 
 
Because our values are in sharp contrast to the godlessness of Progressive Socialism, Christian Citizens like us must stand strong. What we believe rejects the leftist message of open borders, abortion on demand, massive regulation, and governmental interference into every aspect of our lives.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan (Proverbs 29:2).

The Iranian Threat on Israel’s Northern Border

With the Islamic State (IS) on the brink of defeat and Assad's reconquest of Syria well underway, Iran is increasingly threatening Israel along its northern border. At the same time, Iran's terrorist proxy Hezbollah is increasing its anti-Israel rhetoric and further expanding its missile arsenal, which already threatens the entirety of the Jewish state.

Iran has intensified its aggression over the past two months—both against Israel and America. The Iranian drone launched from Syria into Israeli airspace in February constituted an unprecedented hostile infiltration. In eastern Syria, Iranian-backed ground troops are clashing with the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). These activities pose a direct threat to Israel and to other U.S. interests. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

Praying Psalm 83 for Israel shields her from annihilation. Psalm 83 is a prayer to frustrate conspiracy against Israel and confounding her aggressors. Verses 13-18 in particular address Israel's enemies:

 

O my God, make them like the whirling dust, like the chaff before the wind! As the fire burns the woods, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire, so pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; yes, let them be put to shame and perish, that they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.

Purge Of Conservative Voices On Social Media Continues

In recent weeks, we have witnessed an unprecedented social media crackdown on conservative voices.  

 

YouTube's war with Alex Jones has gotten the most attention, but literally hundreds of conservative content creators have had their accounts penalized, suspended or deleted by YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social media giants.  

 

In particular, Twitter seems to really dislike pro-life activists...

 

There appears to be a coordinated effort to target conservative viewpoints, because similar voices on the left are not receiving equal treatment.
