After Wednesday morning's shooting on Republican congressional members, Congressman Steve Scalise is still in critical condition after a gunmen opened fire at a park where members were practicing for an upcoming charity baseball game. Several people were shot, Congressmen Scalise, aides, and police are among the injured. Capitol police killed the leftwing gunmen, which saved many lives on that tragic morning.
Second Amendment Foundation founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb said. "Hate speech and actions incite this kind of violence. It is time for Democrats like Reps. Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and many of the talking heads at CNN and MSNBC to shut up."
Rep. Rodney Davis, R-N.Y., told CNN shortly after the shooting that overheated rhetoric has dangerous consequences. "I believe that there's such a hatefulness in what we see in American politics and policy discussions right now — and social media and the 24-hour news cycle," Davis said. "This has got to stop."
We are grateful for God's protection, this could have been far worse considering a reported 50 shots were fired. So far, there are no fatalities being reported, however please pray for the wounded and their families. Our leaders need your unceasing prayer for protection.
