Why is it important for America to support Israel?
| The eternal connection between the Jewish Nation and the Land of Israel goes back to the dawn of creation. From biblical times through the latest exile of 2000 years, there has always been a Jewish presence in the Land of Israel. For the last 70 years, the people of Israel have not only made the desert bloom - they have experienced remarkable, awe-inspiring success in all areas, truly becoming a blessing and light unto the nations. Israel is blessed with the finest armed forces in the world to protect and defend the people of Israel. True to the Creator's ancient promise to Abraham, the IDF has helped keep the Jewish people secure in their eternal homeland. With President Donald J. Trump, the United States has renewed its full support to the nation of Israel. Similar to his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, President Trump is willing to have the Jewish nation's back at a time when many in the international community are ready to throw it to the wolves. With respect to Israel, President Trump is merely doing what the overwhelming majority of Americans want, as well as acting in the interests of the United States to stand by its sole democratic ally in the Mideast. President Trump is also lining up with Scripture in regard to Israel. Jehovah's promise to Abraham and his seed is found in Genesis 12:2-3: "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." Jehovah promises divine protection to His covenant people in Deuteronomy 28:7: "The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways."
