Whatever Happened to the Christians who once lived in Iraq?

Persecution of Christians is worse today "than at any time in history", a recent report by the organization Aid to the Church in Need revealed. Iraq happens to be "ground zero" for the "elimination" of Christians from the pages of history.

Tragically, eighty percent of the Christians that once called Iraq their homeland have "disappeared." Christians living in lands formerly under the control of the "Caliphate" have been betrayed by many in the West.

When mass graves were found, governments ignored their tragic fate. Bishops were often too aloof to denounce their persecution. The media acted as if they considered these Christians to be agents of colonialism who deserved to be purged from the Middle East. And the so-called "human rights" organizations abandoned them.

Not a single article in the Western mainstream media wrote about this ethnic cleansing. The West was not willing to give sanctuary to these Christians when ISIS murdered them and destroyed or damaged 125 of their churches.

When it comes to persecuted Christians, Scripture tells us we are our brother's keeper! Please pray for Christians in the Middle East to rebuild in the lands where their people were martyred.

Matthew 25:37-40, Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
